How do I reserve a Nordic Dreams puppy?

To reserve a puppy, please complete our puppy application (located under the puppies tab) and wait to hear if you have been approved. Once the puppies reach 2 weeks of age, a non refunable $500 deposit is required to secure your spot on the reservation list the deposit will go towards the full purchase price of the puppy. The remaining balance is due when the puppies are 7 weeks of age.

How does the puppy selection process work?

At Nordic Dreams, we take great care in matching each family with the right puppy. When our puppies reach 7 weeks of age. We will bring in an outside temperament tester to evaluate the litter. This ensures that each puppy's personality is thoroughly assessed. Based on the results of the temperament test and the specific qualities you are looking for in a puppy such as energy level, temperament, and your family’s lifestyle. We carefully match you with the puppy that best fits your needs. Whether you're looking for a highly active companion or a more laid-back family member. We prioritize making the perfect match for both you and the puppy.

At what age do the puppies go home?

Puppies will be ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age. This allows them to properly develop physically , socially, and mentally before before transitioning to their new family.

What are my transportation options for my puppy?

When our puppies reach 8 weeks of age, they will be ready to join their new families. You can choose from the following pick-up options:

-Pick up your puppy directly from our home in Utah.

-Fly to Utah and bring your puppy home with you in the cabin.

-We can assist in finding and arranging a flight nanny service for your convenience.

What is included with my puppy when I take them home?

Your puppy will come with their first set of vaccinations, deworming, a veterinary health check, and health record. They will also be FCPR registered. Additionally, we send each puppy home with a starter pack that includes a small bag of their current food, a toy with the scent of the litter, a file with their puppy photos, and a detailed care sheet. This guide covers important topics such as managing fear periods, potty and crate training, and a vaccination schedule.

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Yes, we provide a 3 year health guarantee that covers genetic health conditions.

What health testing do you do on your breeding dogs?

All of our dogs are CHIC certified, which means they have completed all reccomended health screenings for the breed. You can access the results for each of our dogs through the provided links for full transparency.

The following health tests have been completed on all of our breeding dogs: Hip Dysplasia, Elbow Dysplasia, AVCO eye exam, cardiac evaluation, autoimmune thyroiditis, MDR1 (multiple drug sensitivity), DM (Degenerative Myelopathy), Dentition.

Additionally, we plan to test our breeding dogs for: Pituitary Dwarfism, Cerebellar Hypoplasia, and Patella abnormalities.

Do you offer support after the puppies go home?

Yes, we offer lifetime support to our puppy buyers. We’re always available to answer questions, provide guidance, or help with anything you encounter as your puppy grows.

How do you socialize the puppies before they go to their new homes?

Our puppies will be raised with the puppy culture program, which focuses on early neurological stimulation, socialization, and basic training. They are introduced to various sights, sounds, textures, people, and other animals to ensure they are well rounded and ready for their new homes.

Do you have a contract?

Yes, all buyers must sign a contract that outlines both our obligations and the buyers obligations. The contract includes our health guarantee, spay/neuter agreement (if applicable), and other important details.

Do you offer breeding rights?

We occasionally offer breeding rights to the right homes, If you are interested in breeding, please let us know during the application process so we can discuss your goals and our breeding programs requirements.

Are White Swiss Shepherds the same as White German Shepherds?

Not quite. Despite sharing common ancestors, the German Shepherd and the White Swiss Shepherd are now two separate breeds.

Are White Swiss Shepherds the right breed for me?

White Swiss Shepherd dogs are smart, loyal, aloof, and active. The breed thrives on interaction, affection, and play. If you are able to meet their mental and physical needs this breed may be a great fit for you.

Do White Swiss Shepherds shed a lot?

Yes, White Swiss Shepherds are one of the highest shedding breeds. From experience if you keep them well groomed it doesn’t get too bad, but kiss your black clothes goodbye!

Do you offer puppy training or recommend any trainers?

While we currently do not offer in house training, we can recommend reputable trainers in the ogden area who specialize in puppy obedience and socialization. Starting training early is key to raising a confident and well behaved dog. I highly recommend looking for a trainer who uses a balanced training style.

We are currently working on partnering with Blue Phantom Dog Training to establish a head start program, where puppies will participate in a board-and-train program before joining their new families.
